In order to share information in a reliable and secure manner, Blockchain, which is fundamentally a public digital ledger, was founded in response to the rising popularity of digital cryptocurrencies. Nowadays, blockchain technology has applications outside of just cryptocurrencies, such as business process management, smart contracts, and others. This course teaches participants about both the theoretical and practical sides of blockchain technology. This covers the fundamental architecture and design of Blockchain, the system and security features, as well as a variety of use cases.

Objectives

This course's goal is to teach participants about the development of cryptocurrencies, the principles of blockchain technology, its architecture, the decentralization philosophy that underpins it, as well as the potential effects of blockchain technology on the business world.

Dr. Sindhu Singh is an Associate Professor in the Data Science & Technology department at K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management. She completed her Ph.D. from SNDT Women’s University. She completed her M.Phil (Comp.Science) from Alagappa University and MCA (Master of Computer Application) from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. She is working as an academician for the past twenty years. She is a recognized faculty from University of Mumbai for MCA programs. She is a Ph.D Guide from Somaiya Vidyavihar University. She has published research papers in reputed International ABDC category journals and peer reviewed Scopus indexed journals. She is a reviewer for many prestigious ABDC category journals. She has created a Video book series for IGI Global (USA). She has conducted training programs in Web Designing & Development using PHP for IT professionals, Internet of Things (IoT) for BOSLA and Industry 4.0 for Godrej & Boyce. Her research areas of interests are Technology adoption/diffusion, Mobile Commerce, Digital payments, E-Service, E-Learning, Internet of Things, Machine Learning, Data Analysis using SPSS, SEM analysis using AMOS and Smart PLS 3.0. Dr.Jaya Iyer is an Associate Professor in Data Science & Technology department at K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management. She is working as an academician for almost two decades and has been the part of Somaiya family since 2007. She has completed her PhD from SNDT Women’s University. The title of the thesis is “The impact of e-Governance in the public utility service sector in India”. She completed her MCA from University of Madras and M.Phil., in Computer Science from Madurai Kamaraj University. She has conducted training programs on Python Programming for Impact sure Technologies. She has conducted training programs on Industry 4.0 for Godrej and Boyce Manufacturing Co. Ltd, Mumbai.  She has also conducted training programs in Web Designing & Development using PHP for IT professionals. She has published research papers in reputed national and international journals. Her areas of interests are PHP, Core Java, Artificial Intelligence, Python Programming, Machine learning, deep learning, R Programming, Data Science, Data Analysis using SPSS, SEM analysis using AMOS and Smart PLS 3.0. She has developed a project based on .NET technologies for the channel partner retail of Vodafone Essar Ltd. & had undertaken a consultancy project in Papa John’s using Corel Draw.  She designed and implemented a responsive and dynamic website for a financial consultancy firm Investment Café & also for SIMSR Hostel Management. She played a major role in designing and implementation of online examination software for SIMSR.
