Dr. Smita Ramakrishna is an Associate Professor in the Finance & Law department at K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management.  Her experience in academics spans more than 2 decades. She completed her PhD from University of Mumbai. Her dissertation explores the role of commercial banks in the financial inclusion process. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant. She has participated in faculty development programs at IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Calcutta. She has published papers in reputed journals and has also served as a reviewer for journals. She has presented her work at many reputed national and international conferences, in India and abroad.

Smita has conducted training programs for numerous reputed companies including Godrej & Boyce, Godrej Agrovet, Galderma India, Mahindra & Mahindra, Fiat Chrysler India, Schaeffler India, Zydus Takeda, on various topics. She teaches courses such as Financial Management, Cost and Management Control, and Corporate Finance. Her research interests include Corporate Governance, Corporate Finance and Financial Inclusion.
