Prof. Isaac Jacob is a Marketing and Advertising veteran with an industry career spanning over 32 years. He has worked across all the marketing hierarchy from a salesman to a CEO across leadership responsibilities in sales management, brand management, marketing, and general management. He has worked on brands like Puma, Fevicol, Mercedes-Benz, Lux, TATA Motors, Cadburys, Tata Mutual Fund, Yes Bank, Barbie, Smirnoff, He-Man, Hotwheels to name a few.
Before getting into full-time academics, along with his corporate career, he was a visiting faculty at JBIMS for over 20 years. He has taken up teaching full time for the past 17 years and he has 26,000+ citations to his credit and has co-authored 6 books including the globally best selling book 'Strategic Brand Management' co-authored with Prof. Kevin Lane Keller of Tuck Business School, Dartmouth, USA, and Strategic Management - Concepts & Cases by Fred R David of Francis Marion University, South Carolina and contributed 5 Indian cases in Kotler's classic Marketing Management textbook (16th edition). He has presented research papers and cases at various International conferences such as the EMAC, CMC, Gamma Global Marketing Conferences, Global Fashion Management Conference, etc. He has also taught at various business schools like JBIMS, IIM Calcutta, IIM Trichy, IIT SOM, NMIMS, SCMHRD, SP Jain Global, IIM Mumbai, St Petersburg University, Russia and DHBW University Stuttgart.
Prof. Jacob specializes in Brand Management, Integrated Marketing Communications, Celebrity and Sports Marketing, Advanced Marketing Strategy and Global Marketing. He is brand consultant and corporate trainer for organizations such as Bharat Petroleum, ARKEMA Chemicals (France), Godavari Biorefineries, Godrej & Boyce, MS&L (Publicis Groupe of France), Sony Pix,Insurance Institute of India, Ujala Supreme, Mainland China, Boots Healthcare, Schaeffler Auto Transmission (Germany) and JAPFA (Singapore).
He has been awarded the ‘Best Teacher for Outstanding Contribution to Teaching and Education’ in 2014 by the Higher Education Forum and the ‘Best Teacher Award’ at the 3rd Asian CEF Awards for Excellence in Education in 2014.
He holds a Post-Graduate Degree in Economics from the University of Mumbai and is an MBA from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (Mumbai University). He is also a rank holder at his MBA degree in Mumbai University.
Currently he is Professor Emeritus in the department of Marketing and International Business in Somaiya Vidyavihar University.
