Overview

Every manager/executive at all levels must always strive to improve themselves and groom themselves for undertaking new assignments and challenges. A program that motivates managers to reflect on where they stand and where they wish to go is very effective in the overall growth of the manager/ executive and thus contributes to organizational development.

 

Objectives

  • To help managers increase their self-awareness
  • To facilitate managers to understand how to effectively utilize time and enjoy leisure time on a daily basis.
  • To support managers in understanding their levels of stress, sources of stress, and handle it effectively

Learning Outcomes

  • Managers/ executives get an opportunity to reflect and introspect on self and find various areas to improve and learn the various ways to improve themselves.
  • Outcomes are intangible gains such as assertive behavior, increased self-control, resilience and increased confidence. The participants are sensitized to critical issues of Self-esteem, Self-efficacy and Self -respect and their significance in intrapersonal level. The participants realize the facilitating / debilitating aspects of their thoughts which is the first step towards change.
  • The program helps build awareness of problem solving techniques and problem solving tools, identify root cause from symptoms, identifying your own problem-solving style and improving individual  creativity in problem-solving.
  • The participants will enlist their goals and learn to prioritize them. They will also learn to balance the important and urgent task at hand in enhancing overall performance.
  • The journey is towards finding own niche, becoming self confident, and experiencing happiness in the here and now.

Shailaja Karve is passionate about training and consultancy and has been helping corporates as a facilitator for their personnel development and designing interventions for growth and change for the last 3 decades.  Shailaja is the area Chairperson of OB & HR in K J Somaiya Institute of Management. She has published many research papers and cases in national and international journals and presented her research work in many national and international conferences. She has been the lead investigator in funded research project for NHRDN etc. She has to her credit a few awards for Best Paper and Faculty too. Her forte is in the area of assessment center and developmental initiatives for individuals and organizations.

Shailaja is certified in “Certified Workplace Big 5”; use of Wave Profile, Large Scale Intervention Process, Internationally Certified Trainer and Facilitator certified by Institute of Training and Occupational Learning (ITOL) UK, Chally assessment a predictive tool of competencies, Trained as a Master in Coaching and Mixed Methods Research from St. Gallens University Switzerland

Dr Vidhya Thakkar

Dr Vidhya Thakkar is an Assistant Professor at K J Somaiya Institute of Management, Mumbai. She has 23 years of experience in the education sector across various cities in India. She has rich experience teaching students between the ages of 16 to 25. She completed her doctoral studies at VNSGU, Surat, in the year 2019 in the area of Career Choices of Adolescents. Vidhya brings with her combination of strong academics, teaching experience, effective communication, expertise in dealing with adolescents and excellent interpersonal skills. She has taught varied subjects like Organization Behavior, Personality Development, Human Resources Management, Leadership development, Talent Planning, Cross Cultural Management, Principles of Management and Managerial Economics for graduate and post graduate students, both as a full time as well as visiting faculty in different cities like Pune, Surat, Bangalore, and Mumbai. Vidhya has conducted several highly interactive sessions for teachers and managers at several schools and organizations in India in both online and offline modes. She was the lead content developer and head trainer of a startup named Prashikshan Academy in Bangalore. She has counseled nearly 500+ students belonging to all strata of society in planning their careers and making appropriate career choices.

Continuous learning and sharing knowledge have always been her mantra in life. Being multilingual, Vidhya can comfortably connect with people of various age groups and enjoys listening and sharing stories. She enjoys writing her blog on topics close to her heart during her free time, with several analogies from Mahabharata and Bhagavad Gita.
