Overview

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) has emerged as a critical success factor for organizations in the recent times. Many organizations are implementing diversity initiatives with an objective of achieving increasing representation, reducing career gaps, attracting talent, enhance employer branding and work towards holistic inclusion.

Despite, the popularity and prevalence of the concept and practices around DEIB, formal training to equip individuals and groups to plan and implement DEIB in organizations are few. The programme is designed to address the given context with an objective to sensitize individuals and groups to the concepts around DEIB and to equip them strategize and implement DEIB in their organization.

 

Objectives

The programme is designed with a two-fold objective. First, it aims to sensitize participants of DEIB related concepts in the context of today’s changing environment. This would be enabled by-

  • Developing a strong understanding of unconscious bias, power and and privileges at workplace
  • Identifying the challenges and opportunities related to various dimensions of diversities such as gender, disability, sexual orientation, generational differences etc.

 

The second objective of the programme is to equip managers to drive DEIB in their organization. This would be carried out by

  • Building a business case for DEI
  • Creating and implementing DEIB strategy in organizations.
  • Sensitization of Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace
  • Developing effective DEIB allyship and culture in the organization

 

Pedagogy

The pedagogy will include case studies, class discussions, experiential activities, movie analysis and presentations.

Programme Director

Dr. Shiji Lyndon

Dr. Shiji Lyndon is an Associate Professor in OB & HRM area and the chairperson of Center for Diversity Management and Inclusion at K J Somaiya Institute of Management (KJSIM), Mumbai. She has a Ph.D. in leadership from SJMSOM, IIT Bombay. She is certified in Mixed Methods Research from St. Gallen University, Switzerland.

 

Shiji is a Professionally Certified Coach (PCC) from International Coaching Federation (ICF). She has facilitated more than 700 hours of client coaching for employees from various organizations. She is a certified HOGAN assessment practitioner and also certified in Talent Assessment by AON Hewitt.

 

Shiji is an avid researcher and her work has been published widely in various peer-reviewed national and international journals. She is an Associate Editor of Journal – Business Perspectives and Research (published by SAGE) and is a reviewer of several leading journals. She is also a trainer for faculty and has conducted FDP sessions for various leading business schools. She is a visiting faculty at IIM Kozhikode, SPJIMR, IRMA.
