Suvechcha Sengupta is an academician with a strong focus on decision sciences, operations research, and business analytics working as an Assistant Professor at the K J Somaiya Institute of Management. Previously, she contributed to the institution as an adjunct and visiting faculty member. She has also been a visiting faculty at St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. She is pursuing Ph.D. from IIM Mumbai, where her thesis has been submitted and is pending viva. She has completed her M.Sc. in Operations Research from Delhi University and holds a B.Sc. in Statistics from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai.

Her teaching experience at the graduate and post graduate level focuses on analytical subjects with applications in various disciplines of management. She takes keen interest in teaching courses such as Business Statistics, Decision Sciences, Network Optimization, Quantitative Modelling and Forecasting Techniques. With proficiencies in a range of mathematical and statistical tools, her forte lies in logical reasoning and analytical skills with focus on optimization models and prescriptive analytics. Her dedication to fostering a deeper understanding of decision sciences and analytics amongst management students has resulted in curating courses such as Financial Analytics, Decision Analytics and Optimization Models for Business Decisions. With a continuous intent to learn she has worked on analytical softwares such as LINGO, Matlab, JMP(SAS), JASP, SPSS, @RISK, PHStat, Megastat and is currently learning tools such as R, Python and Tableau.

She has presented papers in national and international conferences including Pan IIM world management conference, Operation Research Society of India, and Production and Operations Management Society (USA). She has also facilitated various Executive and Management Development programs for organisations such as Godrej & Boyce and INS Hamla. Beyond academia, she has contributed as a judge for data visualization competitions and has delivered guest lectures at other institutes. 

Suvechcha is affiliated with professional bodies like the Analytics Society of India and is actively involved in various institution building activities at her organization. As a faculty mentor and organizer, she helps foster student engagement through events, guest lectures, and case study competitions.
