Meena Barot is a graduate in Microbiology with a post graduate degree in Master’s in Marketing Management from NMIMS.
She has over 18 years of corporate experience from mid-level to senior management positions in areas like Sales and Marketing, Global Sourcing, Supply Chain and Logistics Management with 6 years in China as Head of Operations for a Pharmaceutical Company.
She has been a management faculty since 2012 and is associated with K.J. Somaiya Management Institute since November 2020. She is the Programme Director for MBA Sports Management Program.
Meena is an endurance triathlete. She has run over 15 Half Marathons, participated in many endurance and racing cycling events and swims regularly. She has successfully finished three Half-Ironman events in Budapest (2016), Colombo (2018) and Calgary, Canada (2018), which includes 1.9km swim, 90km cycling and 21km running. She had also conceptualized, budgeted, and mentored two “Mini Marathon Events” (ITM RunForFun 2016 and ITM RunForFun 2017) at ITM management Institute which saw more than 1000 participants both the times.
She believes that training for such endurance events requires a lot of discipline, focus and coming together of all your energies – physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual which makes you a much stronger person.
Dr. Vandana Tripathi is working as an Assistant professor with KJ Somaiya Institute of Management, specializing in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), Grassroots sport development, and entrepreneurship. She is a core team member of the MBA Sports Management Program. With an extensive academic and professional background, Dr. Vandana has significantly contributed to the field through research and teaching. She holds a Ph.D. in Management with a focus on corporate sustainability. She has pursued her first master’s from TATA Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, and the second from the Erasmus University Rotterdam, The Netherlands. She has published numerous scholarly articles in journals, presenting novel insights and frameworks that have shaped the understanding and practice of ESG and insights into entrepreneurship in India. In addition to her academic endeavors, Dr. Vandana has served as a board member (Uplift Mutuals) and advisor to various NGOs (DORAI Foundation, SEAL Ashram, Jeevan Aadhar Transformative Aftercare Services etc), advising them on developing sustainable business models.
Prof.Anita Navik is a visiting faculty contributing to the area of monetisation and management of sports facilities under the Public Private Partnership project (PPP) and other models. She has more than 17 years of experience in the Sports and Infrastructure sector backed by strong acumen in strategy, business planning, and marketing. Her professional career comprises various special projects with central and state government, sports ministry, sports departments related to sports infrastructure/Stadia development structure, advisory services, and PPP development model. She was associated with a leading infrastructure and financial company in India and led the sports vertical for the group. Her knowledge and experience in monetisation, content creation, and optimal utilisation of multi-sports international stadia make her one of the few subject matter experts in the country. Over the course of her career, she was also instrumental in hosting various International Cricket tournaments, and leagues with BCCI, ICC, and other Cricket boards.
She has a Master’s in Business Administration degree specialising in Marketing and Finance from the International Institute of Professional Studies from DAVV University, Indore. She has also completed her PG program in Digital Marketing from MICA, Ahmedabad.
PhD candidate in sports management, Faculty of Sport Sciences, Université Paris-Saclay, France. An academic, an author and a professor of several sports management disciplines at Emlyon Business School (France) and K J Somaiya Institute of Management. Her two university degrees in Law and Sports management enable her to apply interdisciplinary approach in both research and teaching. In the classroom, she creates an engaging and inclusive environment where students can explore their passion for sports while developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Elizaveta incorporates a combination of lectures, discussions, hands-on activities and real-world case studies to ensure a well-rounded educational experience.
Prof. Gaurav S Karrir is a visiting faculty at K J Somaiya Vidyavihar University’s Institute of Management. He is also a practising professional in the world of sports and live broadcasting. With an experience of more than 25 years, he has been involved in sports productions for various international sports events across five continents and 15 countries. Prof. Gaurav has worked with media companies such as IMG-TWI, Star TV, Ten Sports and ZEEL. At KJ Somaiya Institute of Management, Prof. Gaurav teaches various courses, where his approach to teaching involves practical event situations, the latest research and interactions with industry experts and players. Being at the confluence of technology and content integration, Gaurav’s varied experience in other genres like radio, reality and news, gives a well-rounded perspective for the students to understand the professional world of sports and media.
Dr. Lauren Michele Johnson is an assistant professor in the Management Department at New Jersey City University. She also serves as the Faculty Athletics Representative for New Jersey City University a NCAA Division III institution. She teaches courses in Sports Management and Entrepreneurship. She utilizes a student-centric learning approach that empowers students to take autonomy for their learning by relating assignments to current business and global news. Her research interests include consumer behavior in sport and professional sport business strategies. She has disseminated her research in academic and sport business conferences around the world. In 2021, her first co-edited book, International Sport Business management was published. Prior to academia, she has enjoyed a career as a generational fan building director for professional sport organizations. She is a former professional basketball athlete and native of Cairo, Georgia. She has a PhD in Sport Management and Policy at the University of Georgia. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing and Master’s Degree in Sport Administration from Hampton University.
Dr. Vaishali Padake is an Assistant Professor in the Economics Department at KJ Somaiya Institute of Management. She teaches Managerial Economics, Macro Economics, Global Economic Environment and Sports Economics. She utilizes a problem-solving approach to impart the knowledge of economics so that students can learn economic analysis in the decision-making process. Her research interest includes Exchange Rate determination, Corporate Finance, Informal Source of finance, Capital Structure and Insurance. Before this, she worked for around 10 years in corporate performing the role of economist and research analyst.
Dr Anjali Chopra has over 23 years of experience in Academics, Customer Insights and Research Consultancy across companies like Vodafone Business Services, Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products, Kansai Nerolac, Coca Cola India, Proctor & Gamble, Marico, ICICI Prudential to name a few. She has engaged with large, world class clients to ensure timely delivery of ongoing and ad-hoc research analysis and management consulting to support the client’s Customer Experience Management initiatives. She has a strong knowledge across a broad array of current and new methodologies in Research and Analytics using technology tools like IBM SPSS, RapidMiner, Excel Solver to name a few.
She is presently Associate Professor , Marketing and International Business at KJ Somaiya Institute of Management and is Associate Editor of Business Perspectives and Research ( C category, from ABDC list). She is Program Director for the 2 year executive MBA for Godrej and Boyce. She has designed and delivered customised executive education programs for Mahindra & Mahindra, Life Insurance Corporation, Wellness Forever, Godrej Aggrovet, Godrej & Boyce etc. She conducted market assessment and feasibility study for Jivana sugarcane juice (Godavari), Somaiya School, MBA HealthCare management and MBA Sports management

Tarun has more than 20 years of experience in the fields of research, data analytics, media measurement, product management and business strategy - his experiences span across academia and corporate.
